The DIVA Collection; For all the women that you are!

Divas of Colour 2014 has come and gone, but we still remember the inspirational women (and men) who turned up for the event, and the different categories and shapes and sizes and characters they came in too. 

We know women play and answer to many roles in this lifetime, ranging from daughter, sister, aunt, wife, sister/daughter-in-law, employee, employer and the ultimate, mother and maybe, mother-in-law too. Phew..! what a list eh? 

Most women wear these many titles effortlessly, whilst others do struggle a bit. 

But however many things you have to tick off your checklist of things to do and do well, your wardrobe need not be one of them. Here, we have helped pick out some staples to give you inspirations for all the different women that you need to be on different days. Show the world all the many Divas that is inside you!!!

4. Glam Diva: You are a glam diva and you make no excuses for it. You like being flirtatious and having a great time and you want the world to join in. You work hard and know that when it's time to party, you do it because you deserve it. Your sex appeal is in your freedom to be you. 5. Urban Diva: you are the one that your conventional mother-in-law just loves. You represent a chic modern woman without compromising on your femininity. You don't power struggle with her for her son's attention (or so she thinks). You are sweet without being overly so. Lupita Nyong'o, the Buzz word in Fashion and Style..!!

The word on everyone’s lips these days is…a name actually: Lupita Nyong’o to be precise! This name is now synonymous with gorgeous high fashion, especially on red carpets and glamorous events.

Born Lupita Amondi Nyong'o, this 30 year old Kenyan actress made her American film debut in Steve McQueen's 12 Years a Slave as ‘Patsey’. A role for which she received critical acclaim and won awards for. She is also tipped for the Oscars too.

With a face so pretty and fresh that it leaves us speechless, Lupita is one of the very few women in the world who can pull off a shaved head glamorously. We are also hailing her as the next fashionista with tons of style and if what we have seen so far on the red carpet is anything to go by, then we are sure you will agree that there’s is more to expect from this bombshell of an actress.

Lupita has graced the red carpet this past month kitted out in an array of top designers and we are yet to see any of them repeated. The actress who shares a stylist with another actress, Michelle Dockery of 'Downtown Abbey', is one of the most luckiest girls ever and has had some right down knockout red carpet numbers with an impressive list of designers worn so far, including; Rodarte, Prada, Christopher Kane, Stella McCartney,, Rouland Mouret, J.Mendel, Mui Mui and top favourites, Mary Katrantzou graphic prints and the Red Caped Ralph Lauren dress, to name a few.

         

The Business Minded woman... Lupita shows she can look business and ladylike on the red carpet. The burnt orange dress by Anthony Berardi, The Blue Roland Mouret and the gorgeous Stella McCartney's number are all testament to her sense of style and poise.....

Colour me Preetee...! The lady clearly loves her colours, be they bright and happy or cool and classic whites.....and why not? If we had gorgeous skin hue like hers, we would too. This yellow dress by J.Mendel is particularly flavorsome on the actress.

         

One of the most exciting things about Lupita, is her ability to switch from serious to playfull in her styles of fashion. Here she is in very cute dresses that bring out the 'girly' in her while keeping her cool composure at the same time! 

As a black woman in the public eye, we are very proud of her for upholding her heritage and the natural look in all its glory, especially recently, when there has been a lot of talk surrounding black women who bleach their skin. It is truly refreshing to see someone as pretty as her, shoot down that myth that only fair skin is beautiful.

                                       

The lady in Red....here, the Sexy Screen Siren rocks a fabulous caped gown by Ralph Lauren. The Colour is oh so exquisite on her skin tone, and that hair.....!! Yes Lupita, you are definitely a Winner.

Lupita Nyong’o is clearly very beautiful as she is talented and although there has been quite a bit of hype surrounding her recently, her acting career is no new thing. She has been around film sets and part of production crews for a while now. As well as acting, she is also a director. In 2009, Lupita wrote, produced and directed a short documentary film, ‘In My Genes’, which was played at many film festivals, documenting the treatment of the Albino persons in Kenya.

Due to appear in Liam Neeson’s upcoming film, ‘Non-Stop’, we can’t wait to see what this beautiful actress will bring to the fashion table to excite us and make our envy as green as one of her many numbers.

In what has been described as a night of celebration of  real creative talents and hard work, C.hub magazine celebrates her one year of unwavering quest to give Africa a place on the world map . In just one year, C.Hub magazine has become one of the leading African magazines published in the UK to truly balance the media coverage targeting the Black community both here in the UK and globally.

According to the publishing Director, Emeka Anyanwu, “Our primary objective is to make sure that African (Black )talents young and old are given a fair opportunity to showcase themselves to their audience. We are continually sourcing for the best and original talents to showcase. C.Hub magazine is not just another fashion magazine. It goes beyond that, it is a source of inspiration, motivation and drive for talents who work so hard to make a difference. And today I’m glad to say that we are on the right track given the massive support so far".

To celebrate this huge stride, the anniversary is set to bring together the who is who in the African and Caribbean community both in the UK and abroad. Top notch celebrities, movie directors, fashion designers, events organizers and media houses have been invited to this event. In this star studded party, the best of African and African inspired designers will take to the runway to showcase outstanding classic designs that will set the scene for African fashion for 2014.  The likes of Nigerian international brand Adebayo Jones, Ghanaian international designer Kgtkkt, eclectic jewel designer Jodyline London , Eldimaa timeless fashion , stylish and bespoke jewels designs from Dapri Jewels London and a host of others have already been  listed to showcase on this event. "It is the runway that will define the next step in African fashion and design". Says Gayle Thompson, top model and our fashion editor. 

To headline the music scene is Afrobeats hottest artist  Komo official , followed by Yezzi Yezzir one of London’s youngest active female rappers. We have also London’s biggest DJ - DJ Fasida to blast the roof top.

On the dance scene are super talented London contemporary, Azonto, Makosa, etighi, street dancers ( Iam Movement and GOP Dancers) set to again blow your minds off. It is a never seen before gathering of the best of who does what in the London Black entertainment and media industry.

The red carpet event will be hosted by the popular and graceful by the Duchess TV interviewing celebrities and special guests on the day, with a host of other media houses expected to attend the party.

During the one year, there has been few people that have given enormous support and help to the growth and success of the C.Hub Magazine vision, these few people will also be recognized and celebrated on the night.

Over a thousand people especially high class names are expected to attend the event.  Guests will be welcomed and ushered  into the prestigious hall by fresh and beautiful models hand picked to grace the event.

Africa Fashion week the final review in Video..

The 3rd installment of Africa fashion week London 2013 has just gone by but not in the minds of those who attended the 3 day event. And the 4th day which was the inaugural banquet event for the show. Bring to the shores of London and Truman's Brewery over 100 designers, 20,000 spectators from all walks of life. The venue was spectacularly grand, the models where epitome of Beauty and glam and by a mile again the best, the biggest and outstanding African event in the UK so far.

Africa fashion week London in pictures

Pop in and pop out with original hand made products from London's next generation of designers thanks to Established pop up shop at Westfield Stratford.

On the 20th of this month July, the Established Pop- up shop opened its doors to the Royal Baby happy shoppers for a whole new concept and shopping experience. In one of the retail spaces at Westfield Stratford, original products and designs from local designers and curators are displayed.  From organic beauty products, jewelry and fashion to photography and artworks, there is virtually something for everyone.
Established Pop- up shop is part of the Charity - community Link's projects helping locals have access to the economic power house of this great nation. The project also provides training and support for individuals, start up businesses and social enterprises.
The Pop - up is designed to give new traders an invaluable experience, increase their retail knowledge and raise the profile of their brands. The best part of being that participating designers and traders only have to render a fraction of their profit to the project to be re-injected back into the scheme.
