Bashy Ashley Thomas is not a new name in the music scene with over 7 million YouTube views to his name, Bashy has released a number of well respected mixtapes (Chuppa Chupps, Bashy.com, The Great Escape) and a MOBO nominated album (Catch Me If You Can) to date, graced the stages of various festivals including Glastonbury in addition to supporting the Gorillaz on their world tour (at Damon Albarn’s personal invitation). Also forging a successful acting career, Bashy has most recently starred in the Channel 4 drama ‘Black Mirror’ and featured in a number of films including ‘The Man Inside’ and‘Cockneys vs Zombies’. And it doesn’t stop there, this Autumn will see Bashy in a leading role alongside Kano and Ashley Walters in the much talked about second series of Channel 4 drama ‘Top Boy’.
Bashy is not just renowned for setting the bar for clever and authentic musical artistry, but he is also widely respected for his business acumen as an independently funded and released artist, impacting on the UK underground scene through big ideas rather than access to big budgets. And since the release of his epic debut single ‘Black Boys’(produced by Naughty Boy) in 2007, Bashy’s story has only gone from strength to strength and firmly established himself as a certified talent in both the music and acting world.
The new single 'These are the songs' is set to be a summer anthem to rave the clubs and radio stations having already gained earlier key support from Radio 1, 1xtra and Kiss.
